This dwarf variety has broad lance-shaped variegated leaves green, yellow and cream in colour. The foliage contrasts nicely with the large red stems that bear purple flowers during the summer.

Woodland situations are ideal for this perennial as it thrives in shade or partial-shade. Perfect for edging of borders and growing in containers, this plant can be used in a variety of situations providing the soil is humus-rich and moisture-retentive.
